What is Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage (BLD) and How does it work?
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage stimulates the flow of lymph through the body, improving circulation & metabolism.
The massage technique stimulates rapid movements of stagnant liquids from these tissues and promotes their flow towards the lymphatic junctions so that they can be carried easily to the kidneys for faster removal.
- Benefits of Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage
- Improve blood circulation
- Boost the immune system
- Boost metabolism
- Improve the elasticity of the skin
- Improve digestive and weight loss
- Reduce appearance of cellulite
- Helps with hormonal imbalance
(menopause, PMS and pregnancy) - Helps with bloating, puffiness, and water retention
- Helps with constipation and regulates bowel movements
How often should I get Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage?
For a highly modeled body and perfect silhouette, regular maintenance sessions of lymphatic drainage massage should be performed. Most patients need one session per month to maintain the results over time.
Ideally, it is advisable to have 3 sessions of Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage done weekly until the symptoms of fluids retention, swelling, and cellulite have resolved. However, some patients may need more frequent sessions.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MY LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE?
Expect a reduction in swelling, bloat and puffiness. If your swelling is a chronic problem, we may have to talk about additional interventions that are needed.
Increased thirst. It is recommended to stay hydrated for at least 48 hours after a lymphatic massage.
Increased urination/bowel movements: after the massage, the lymph waste will need to be removed from the body. This leads to an increase in urination and bowel movements, as these are the methods the body uses to eliminate lymph waste from the body.
The lymphatic system carries destroyed bacteria and other waste products back into the bloodstream. The liver and kidneys remove these from the blood. The body then gets rid of this waste when you pass urine (pee) or stools (poo).
A lymphatic drainage treatment can help get the lymph flowing, help the body get rid of excess weight and give a fresher appearance with unclogged pores and less puffy looking skin.
Few people have negative reactions to lymphatic drainage massage. Some people, however, complain of headaches, nausea and fatigue. When that happens, you should ask your healthcare provider about managing your side effects.
Lymphatic Drainage Aftercare
Do: Drink lots of water!
Don’t: Take hot baths or use saunas for the first 24 hours after the massage, as the heat can cause the blood vessels to dilate and impede the flow of lymph fluid.
Don’t: Massage the areas that were treated during the massage, as this can disrupt the flow of lymph fluid and undo the benefits of the massage.
LYMPHATIC SYSTEM FUNCTION
The lymphatic system is our body’s ‘sewerage system’. It maintains fluid levels in our body tissues by removing all fluids that leak out of our blood vessels. The lymphatic system is important for the optimal functioning of our general and specific immune responses
The lymphatic system runs throughout your body in parallel to your blood vessels. It comprises hundreds of lymph nodes, lymph vessels, and lymphatic capillaries spread throughout your body. The lymph vessels collect and return excess fluid from all over the body, filter and concentrate it, and then deliver it back into the blood circulation.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE?
The purpose of lymph drainage is to move fluid out of your tissues into lymph nodes where bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms are destroyed. It reduces swelling and pain and stimulates your immune system by increasing the circulation of white blood cells. There are many lymph nodes in your face and neck, and they protect you against pathogens that can enter your body through your eyes, nose, and mouth.
WHAT IS FIBROBLAST AND HOW IT HELPS WITH SKIN REPAIR AND TIGHTENING?
A fibroblast is a type of cell that contributes to the formation of connective tissue, a fibrous cellular material that supports and connects other tissues or organs in the body. Fibroblasts secrete collagen proteins that help maintain the structural framework of tissues.
The sublimation of the skin cell causes immediate tightening and through the healing of the micro wound that is caused the bodies natural healing process produces more collagen to plump, tighten and firm the treated area. The treatment is so precise that only a 1-2mm treatment spot is created.
Fibroblasts are critical in supporting normal wound healing, involved in key processes such as breaking down the fibrin clot, creating new extra cellular matrix (ECM) and collagen structures to support the other cells associated with effective wound healing, as well as contracting the wound.
WHAT IS ICE THERAPY BODY SCULPTING?
Ice Therapy is a treatment that converts stored fat into energy, reducing measurements, firming, toning, detoxifying and targeting unwanted fat. Thermogenesis is a part of ice therapy. It’s a process that creates heat when cold is applied to the body. This process helps burn your adipose tissue (white fat cells). triggers thermogenesis so stored fat can start to diminish. Puresculpt along with a technique application, will help reduce sizes, contour the body and tone your skin.
